Bellevue Beats Music Series Wraps for 2021
See You Next Year!
As summer winds down, so does the Bellevue Beats Music Series. Bellevue Beats, presented by Amazon, provided a platform for a diverse range of genres, peformers and artistic expression to help spread a little levity and joy in an uncertain time.
From April to September, the series became the longest music production ever coordinated by the Bellevue Downtown Association. Pretaped sessions kicked off the program with intimate, solo performances that audiences could enjoy from the comfort of home, and later phased into live, outdoor concerts at different parks and plazas throughout Belleuve's backyard. Extending the annual summer concert series over six months seemed like a natural choice to reignite homegrown music in the Downtown neighborhood and amplify local talent.
Over 35 musicians were featured throughout the series. Among the array of talented artists was local blues musician Brian Butler, vintage pop duo Sundae + Mr. Goessl, rock afficionado Massy Ferguson and dozens more! With pandemic restrictions in place, many musicians have been without traditional venues to reach audiences in person, and for many, earn a living. 
An opportunity to partner with Brio Apartments as the recording venue for our virtual concerts proved especially gratifying for the artists, who continued striving to produce and share their passion amid COVID-19 restrictions. Once we launched our summer session concerts in person, organizations like The Bellevue Collection, The Spring District, and Kilroy Realty Corporation offered inviting, outdoor venues where our musicians could shine on full display! Each venue partner had an active hand in furthering our mission to cultivate an accessible, dynamic culture in the Downtown core.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to champion live and local music these past six months and picked up some grub from Downtown eateries along the way to complete your lunchtime soundtrack. We look forward to seeing both familiar and new faces at our series next year - stay tuned!
