New Year, New Eats: Here's a List of New Restaurants Coming to Downtown Bellevue

Just in the last year, the Heart of Bellevue has seen dozens of new businesses open – with many more on their way. Alongside our retail growth comes a wave of upcoming restaurant openings poised to set Downtown Bellevue up as a dining destination on the Eastside. We’ve gathered a list of some of the new eateries coming to town this year (and in the future).

Don’t Yell at Me

Don't Yell at Me

Don’t Yell at Me is a new boba tea shop coming soon to Downtown Bellevue at Bellevue Connection. They'll serve fresh milk teas, espresso lattes, and specialty drinks like sea salt cheese milk foam. Their tea flavors include tiramisu, pink lychee, winter melon, honey oolong, and more.

Don’t Yell at Me currently has three locations in Washington – Capitol Hill, the UW area, and Kirkland. No opening date has been announced for their Bellevue spot. Follow them on Facebook for updates.

Farzi Café

Farzi Cafe

Downtown Bellevue’s growth has grabbed the attention of many international restauranteurs, including Zorawar Kalra – the owner of Farzi Café. The new Indian café is set to open inside The Bellevue Collection and will feature a menu of Indian dishes with whimsical nods to traditional British favorites. According to their website, guests can expect a vibrant and bustling atmosphere with nods to contemporary Indian style.

Farzi Café’s first North American location is in Canada. Their upcoming opening in Downtown Bellevue is part of their new business expansion initiative to the United States.

Milk Bar

Milk Bar

Founded by James Bearn award-winning pastry chef Christina Tosi, Milk Bar is a new highly anticipated dessert shop opening in Downtown Bellevue. Now slated to open in the spring of this year, they will be located on the second floor of Nordstrom at Bellevue Square.

Milk Bar earned its popularity by appearing on the Netflix docu-series Chef’s Table. Their menu consists of a unique collection of American sweet treats like birthday-flavored truffles, cornflake chocolate chip marshmallow cookies, and more. Plus, gluten-free options are also available. You can view their full menu online!

Coffeeholic House

Coffeeholic

Old Bellevue welcomes a new coffee shop soon! Coffeeholic House is known for their Vietnamese coffee, using Organic Robusta beans from Vietnam, and brewed with the traditional phin-dripped methods. They are considered a startup shop. Their mission is to bring something new to the community and make it more diverse, exclusive, and engaging. Their unique drink creations include Coffeeholic Dream, Coconut coffee, Bac Siu, and White-hazel latte.

Coffeeholic House will be located next to Hedge & Vine along Main Street. They currently have two locations in Seattle and were voted the Favorite Seattle coffee shop by SeattleMet.

Lao Ma Tou

Lao Ma Tou

When winter comes around, many crave a nice hot soup to warm the chilly nights. That’s why Lao Ma Tou’s opening on February 14 arrives at the perfect time! This new hot pot restaurant, located inside SOMA Towers, will bring authentic and traditional Chengdu-style hot pot experience to Downtown Bellevue.

Lao Ma Tou first originated 20 years in Chengdu, a city in China. This will be their first location in the Pacific Northwest.

Mercury Coffee

Mercury Coffee Co.

Eastside’s favorite coffee shop is finally opening a location Downtown inside City Center Bellevue! Founded in Woodinville, WASH., Mercury Coffee Co. is best known for their dedication to providing natural, minimally processed, and certified organic ingredients. While an opening date has not been announced, we expect their menu to feature some of their 30+ drinks, including their classics, signatures, teas, chai, blended, and more.

Mercury Coffee Co. currently has 11 locations on the Eastside and has won multiple awards over the years for their high-quality ingredients and phenomenal service.
