A Journey Around the British Isles
Join mezzo-soprano, Nerys Jones, and pianist, Tim Barrick, on a journey across the ocean to sample different flavors of the British Isles. The musical banquet begins with a visit to the Celtic nations of Wales, Scotland and Ireland, then hops over the border for some English fare. There is a feast of beautiful art songs on the menu with cherry picked favorites by John Ireland, Roger Quilter, and Benjamin Britten. The musical potluck ends where it started, back in mouth-watering Wales; Nerys Jones’ roots, land of the leek, the daffodil, and more pertinently, “The Land of Song!”
