Deemed “highly persuasive” by The Strad, cellist, Dmitri Atapine, and pianist, Hyeyeon Park, made their critically acclaimed recording premiere with Lowell Liebermann’s Cello Sonatas, going on to record a catalog of works by Bridge, Rachmaninov, Barber, and more. In this Carte Blanche performance, the Park–Atapine duo guides listeners through a selection of masterful, moody, and virtuosic cello sonatas, telling stories of the music from stage.
