The City of Bellevue, in partnership with the King County Library System, is proud to present Emerging Radiance: Farmhouse, an augmented reality interactive artwork honoring the stories of Japanese American farmers who lived in Bellevue between 1920 and World War II. This powerful installation will be on display at the Bellevue Library through February 2027.
Join them for the opening reception on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, from 6–9 p.m., coinciding with the Day of Remembrance. This special evening will feature remarks from artists Michelle Kumata and Tani Ikeda, City Councilmember Dave Hamilton, KCLS Executive Director Heidi Daniels, and other distinguished speakers.
Guests will have the opportunity to explore the interactive artwork, attend a 7:30 p.m. breakout session with the artists, and view the Emerging Radiance documentary.
This event highlights the resilience and contributions of Japanese American families, connecting their legacy to our present through innovative storytelling.
