ABOUT THE ISSUES
Grand Connection Design Guidelines
The City is updating the Pedestrian Corridor and Major Public Open Space Design Guidelines to reflect the vision from the 2017-adopted Grand Connection Framework Vol 1. This policy update started last fall and is ramping up this spring with code amendment work at the Planning Commission level. Council adoption targeted for June. The BDA Land Use & Livability Committee has been tracking this issue closely. View City’s slide deck from the Sept Committee meeting for additional details.
2021 City Work Plan re: Land Use Policies and Intiatives
At the December BDA Land Use & Livability Committee meeting, members agreed to pursue a policy road map that would unlock projects sequential manner. City staff will respond to the road map and share details about their 2021 work plan.
Housing Task Force
In December, the BDA Land Use & Livability Committee established a Housing Task Force to help manage the packed pipeline of policy updates and serve as a liaison to the City and other organizations engaged on these issues. The first task force meeting is on February 3. Committee members will be briefed on their progress and scope.
