Gustav Holst's haunting Somerset Rhapsody provides an evocative and atmospheric introduction to a program which then turns to a suite drawn from Bizet's Carmen, one of the most beloved operas of all time. Beethoven's mighty Piano Concerto No. 5 ("Emperor") rounds out the program and features the winner of the orchestra's 2019 Youth Concerto Competition, Sandy Huang.
