Named best American play of 2014 - The Guardian

Eastside Actors' Lab presents The Realistic Joneses, a Broadway play by Will Eno. The Realistic Joneses is a comedic play about two couples, both with the last name Jones, who wrestle with major mid-life issues, including degenerative disease. Touching and hilarious, this quirky play strikes a balance between the tragedy and the comedy of life in the 21st century.

The Realistic Joneses is presented in a series of twelve realistic, mostly comic scenes. We meet Bob and Jennifer and their new neighbors, John and Pony, two suburban couples who have even more in common than their identical homes and their shared last names. As their relationships begin to irrevocably intertwine, the Joneses must decide between their idyllic fantasies and their imperfect realities. This play presents philosophical musings and character-driven humor. It celebrates the simple joy of life while suggesting that we should enjoy the amazing life that comes our way, however long it lasts.
