The Bellevue Jazz & Blues Music Series welcomes Tracy Moore.

Tracy is widely regarded as a master of the 12-string guitar, pioneering what he calls “Melodic 12-String Guitar.” Inspired early on by Pete Seeger’s instruction LP and later by Leo Kottke’s recordings, Tracy blended his background in rock, classical, and Renaissance lute with American fingerstyle traditions. By incorporating the upper octave strings into melody lines, he transformed the 12-string from an accompaniment instrument into a richly expressive, dynamic voice. His compositions and recordings showcase the instrument’s expanded melodic and textural possibilities, from playful tunes like Tom Bombadil to intricate works like Highland Drive and McSharry’s Jig.
