Join us for this special interactive event at Bellevue Library to learn about the greats of Soul Music and meet contemporary Soul singers Phyllis Talley and David Holden Jr, and Hop Hop rapper B-Boy Fidget. You'll hear how Soul Music evolved and impacted other genres. This is a Free All-Ages Event thanks to support from City of Bellevue under their Arts & Culture Project Grant program.

This library program event on September 20 is a prelude to a concert on October 11 at Bellevue Youth Theatre titled Music Soulstice: The Roots, Golden Age, and Impact of Soul Music featuring Global Heat band performing songs from the great American songbook of Soul music and its influences in R&B, Funk, and Hip Hop. Global Heat with special guest Roz perform the Golden Age of Soul hits by Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, and James Brown; the Motown sound of Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder; R&B from Earth Wind and Fire, Sly & the Family Stone, Michael Jackson, and more; and contemporary spinoff styles of artists like Lizzo, Lauryn Hill, Anderson Paak, and Kendrick Lamar.
