A Summer of Connection: Highlights from Pop-Up on the Plaza

September 2, 2025

Pop-Up on the Plaza isn’t just about giveaways or performances – it’s about activating our public spaces and showcasing the heart of Downtown Bellevue. By featuring local small businesses, highlighting community organizations, and bringing people together in shared plazas, the series helps transform everyday places into vibrant gathering spots.

A Look Back at the Summer Pop-Up on the Plaza Events:

  • March – Transportation Fair + Treats: Skyline Plaza Tower kicked off the series with a Transportation Fair, where participants learned about travel options in Bellevue while enjoying free mini scones from Café An’Clair and edamame from Sushi Kudasai.
  • April – Spring Plants Giveaway: At City Hall Plaza, Bellevue Nursery handed out free flower plants alongside games and food truck favorites from the City of Bellevue’s Street Eats program.
  • May – Cookies & Connections: Sugar n Flakes Bakery & Café served up cookies and coupons while Coffeeholic House offered drinks for purchase.
  • June – Matcha Muffins: Nana’s Green Tea delighted visitors with free matcha and hojicha muffins at City Hall Plaza.
  • July – Summer Refresh: At Compass Plaza, Don’t Yell At Me served refreshing tea drinks while local organizations shared resources and activities.
  • August – Free Scones & Yoga: A fun midday break featuring free mini scones from Cafe An’Clair (while supplies last), community booths and a free outdoor yoga class hosted in partnership with CorePower Yoga Bellevue.
  • Music for All (June – September): Running throughout the summer, Piano on the Plaza invited anyone – experienced pianists and first-time players alike – to sit down and share a melody at City Hall Plaza and Compass Plaza.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a treat, a tune or a conversation. We can’t wait to welcome you back next summer for another season of Pop-Up on the Plaza.
