Dough Zone Bellevue Launches a New Happy Hour

January 5, 2022 - by Sandy Vo

Dough Zone Launches Exclusive Bellevue Happy Hour

You can find just about any cuisine in Downtown Bellevue, including authentic Chinese food. With a desire to bring traditional Chinese comfort food into a modern setting, owners Jason and Nancy opened Dough Zone in 2014 and relocated their flagship restaurant to Bellevue last year. They've since expanded to eight different locations throughout the Greater Seattle area and California with another location coming to the University Village and Portland, Ore.

To thank the Bellevue community for their support, Dough Zone is offering a brand-new happy hour special exclusive to their Bellevue location. Draft beers will be 50% off and served in 16oz glasses, including major brands like Rainer Lager, Fremont Golden Pilsner and more. The happy hour will be from 1-5 p.m., every Monday through Thursday.

Andy Luc, a marketing specialist at Dough Zone, explained the special will showcase Bellevue's unique restaurant design.

“We chose the Bellevue location, not only because it’s our Flagship, but our Downtown location is the only one with a bar and we want to make good use of it,” Luc said.

With the new happy hour, Dough Zone will finally open the bar seating area for customers to enjoy a beer alongside their daily menu. All items on the menu are family recipes made with care and a desire to give Americans a taste of China. See some of their signature dishes below or look at their full menu for more traditional dishes.

Xiao Long Bao (Soup Dumplings)

To create the soupy filling, chefs proudly use a traditional Chinese recipe. By adding aspic to moist, seasoned Berkshire-Duroc pork and crab meat, steaming the bun will liquefy it into a broth and fill the traditional steamed bun with savory goodness. These were traditionally steamed inside a little bamboo basket, thus the name Xiao (small) Long (basket) Bao (bun) was born.

Q-Bao (Pan-Fried Dumplings)

One of their signature dishes, Q-Bao, originates from the famous Shanghai Sheng Jian Bao (Pan Fried Buns). Their tasty Q-Bao is made and prepared with distinctive, fresh ingredients in a traditional way of cooking. It is filled with moist Berkshire-Duroc pork, a secret aspic recipe and wrapped with dough. After a 2-step cooking process of first steaming and then pan-frying the bottom, the buns turn out perfectly soft on the top, crispy and crunchy on the bottom.

Dan Dan Noodles

Szechuan's specialty Dan Dan Noodle is one of their signature noodles. Its incredible crispy, spicy & numbing peppercorns bring inspired flavors on another level. Their freshly made noodles are served in a secret savory spicy sauce, then topped with fresh green onion & preserved mustard greens. All you need to do is mix everything together and enjoy!
