Hanging Up a Bit of Color in the Heart of Bellevue

Hanging Up a Bit of Color in the Heart of Bellevue

After last year’s successful pilot project, hundreds of yellow lanterns lining Bellevue’s Grand Connection have returned to Downtown again – bringing a pop of color back to the popular pedestrian walkway.

The lanterns span the walk between the Bellevue Transit Center and Lincoln Square, hanging overhead in trees and strung from structures. Each lantern is carefully hung by Bellevue Downtown Association staff, and will remain up throughout the summer.

Aiming to add vibrancy and create a stronger sense of place, the lantern installation is part of the Grand Connection vision – a collaborative effort between the Bellevue Downtown Association, the City of Bellevue, businesses and property owners along the pedestrian corridor.

Next time you're Downtown, check the lanterns out for yourself! And make sure you share your photos with us using #HeartofBellevue.
