Looking at Law Enforcement
A candid conversation with Bellevue Police Chief Steve Mylett
From the unprecedented events of 2020 to the national dialogue about law enforcement, Bellevue Police Chief Steve Mylett shares an inside look at lessons learned and the efforts at work to build public trust, engage the community on critical issues, and prepare for the city’s future.
Steve Mylett | Bellevue Chief of Police
Chief Mylett joined Bellevue PD in 2015, bringing with him a decades-long career in law enforcement. As Chief, he oversees a department of more than 200 sworn officers and civilian staff while setting the strategies and direction for the agency. Prior to Bellevue, he led several departments in Texas, where he built a reputation for championing community-focused policing, and during one tenure, helped reduce property crime by 30%.
