Now that summer is in full swing with the start of June and school is coming to an end, it is time to start thinking about all the great things that you can be looking forward to this summer and over the next few months. Downtown Bellevue is the best place to start looking. With around 2,700 acres of parks and open land, Bellevue has many things to offer. Here are a few things happening in Bellevue parks downtown that will get you out and about and having fun this summer:

June:

  • June 8, Surrey Downs Park – The park is finally open. On June 8th the city is celebrating the grand opening of Surrey Downs Park with a ribbon cutting ceremony, food, and activities. Be the first to break in this great new location.

July:

  • July 4, Ashwood Playfield – Time to break out the red, white, and blue, for you AND your pup. What? You heard it, Bellevue’s annual Four on the 4th Dog Jog & Walk is coming up! Four on the 4th is an annual, non-competitive 4k event that starts and ends near Ashwood Park.

  • July 4, Bellevue Downtown Park – The festivities are far from over. Starting at 2 pm there will be music, food, games, and so much more. Of course, it wouldn’t be 4th of July without fireworks, which start promptly at 10:05 pm.

  • July 9 – September 12, Downtown Bellevue - Turn up lunch hour with a 10-week series of live music every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 12 - 1:30 pm.

August:

September:

  • Meydenbauer Bay Park – Start your day off right with a sunrise yoga class that focuses on breath and simple postures that work on balance and stability.

October:

  • Kelsey Creek Farm – Kickoff the fall season with a visit to the Kelsey Creek Farm. Open daily, the park features hiking and jogging trails, a playground, picnic areas, and of course, farm animals that you can go visit during various events and classes.

November:

  • November 29, Bellevue Downtown Park – We all know that Christmas season starts the second Thanksgiving ends, so go out with a bang with the Bellevue Downtown Ice Rink. Opens November 29.
