Trying the Collection Eats App

Emma Sullivan, April 2, 2018

Chances are, if you live, work, or play in Downtown Bellevue, you've eaten at one of the many restaurants or food joints at The Bellevue Collection (Bellevue Square, Bellevue Place, Lincoln Square, Lincoln Square South).

In case you weren't already aware, a few months ago The Bellevue Collection released a new free app - Collection Eats - which serves as a directory/search for all the food spots within their locations. I was intrigued by the concept of a Bellevue collection specific food app and decided to check it out. Read on for some of the elements I enjoyed and to see pictures of what the app interface looks like!

Features I Enjoyed:

  • Specificity to The Bellevue Collection: My first thought when the app was released was "why should I use this app, when I already have Yelp?" What I didn't realize was how nice it is to have an app that doesn't bombard me with "suggested restaurants" that are really just ads for places across town that are not relevant to me. With the Collection Eats app, the pool has already been narrowed to the restaurants
  • Simplicity of Interface: There are really only two main screens on this app - the homepage and the search filter screen. Because of this, the app is very easy to navigate and doesn't require a "learning" period.
  • Individual Restaurant Pages: Once you pick a specific restaurant, the app will show you the location, map, type of food, address, website, hours and photos. On top of this, there are buttons to click to make reservations, get delivery, view the menu, and make a call. It's very easy and I like the way it's organized.
  • Filtering: Some apps give you a million features to filter searches by. This one gave me the option to filter by cost, type of food, location, and whether it's "open now," "offers delivery," and "takes reservations." Exactly the filters you need but not so many that you get a headache.

The only downside to this app was that there are obviously other awesome restaurants and food spots in Downtown Bellevue that are not part of The Bellevue Collection. If I didn't already know where these were, I wouldn't be able to find them by using only the Collection Eats app. If you're looking for dining options in Downtown Bellevue, check out our Dining Guide
