Throughout the evening, we’ll honor the partnerships and achievements that continue to shape a vibrant, welcoming, and unforgettable Downtown.
Keynote Speaker
Peter Kageyama is an award-winning author and urbanist who writes and speaks about emotional engagement with our places. For over a decade he has been making the case for why it is a good thing for more people to fall in love with their places. Since publication of the first book, For the Love of Cities in 2011, Peter has given hundreds of presentations and has traveled all over the US and around the world as the so-called “Pied Piper of City Love.”
He the author of four non-fiction books including the latest, For the Love of Cities Revisited – The Love Affair Between People and Their Places. He is a widely recognized thought leader in the area of community and economic development and a favorite speaker for communities seeking new ideas and new inspiration.
Peter lives in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida with his wife, award winning architect, Lisa Wannemacher and their dog, Dobby - yes, he is a Harry Potter fan.
