Every 2 seconds, someone in our community needs blood. Blood donation is an essential lifeline for trauma care, emergency situations, surgeries, cancer treatments, organ transplants, childbirth, and many other medical procedures. Despite 62% of the U.S. population being eligible to donate, only 3% do so regularly.
To maintain a steady blood supply, we need 1,000 donors a day. Bloodworks Northwest supplies lifesaving blood to 95% of hospitals in Western Washington and Oregon.
You can donate blood every 56 days.
During our summer blood shortage season, there's no better way to show you care than by becoming a blood donor. The entire process takes about an hour, but the actual donation only takes around 10 minutes—perfect for a lunch break.
