At Home in the Heart of Bellevue: A Conversation with Brio Apartments

At the intersection of all the action Downtown, Brio Apartments opened their doors, offering a new community to call home that taps into the vibrant pulse of Bellevue’s core. With unparalleled offerings, modern luxury and comfort are not mutually exclusive here – Brio balances remarkable views of the city while offering privacy and distinct finishes. As the Downtown neighborhood grows every day, we reached out to Edita Lee at Brio to learn what makes the Heart of Bellevue a great place to call home and how they’re continuing to welcome new residents during this time.

BDA: What about the Heart of Bellevue makes it a place your residents want to be?
EL: Being in the heart of the city, our residents can experience the best that Bellevue has to offer. Downtown is full of local shops, restaurants, parks, and prime work centers, so the location makes the commute that much easier to reach all your favorite destinations. And as Downtown Bellevue and its surrounding area continues growing at a rapid pace, we believe it’s important for incoming residents and anyone working in Bellevue to be able to simplify their day to-day commute and enjoy the perks of Pacific Northwest living. That’s what living Downtown is all about!

BDA: Whether a longtime downtowner or prospective resident, why should someone choose Brio to call home? What separates you from the crowd?
EL: We’re located right in the Heart of Bellevue, and our brand-new apartment homes offer generous amenities in this outstanding location, including a lap pool, sports court, indoor/outdoor co-working spaces, and a sleek residential lounge – all designed with an urban dweller in mind. We're all about activity and rejuvenation. Plus, residents can choose from several contemporary designs with a variety of color palettes for an interior tailored to their unique preferences.

BDA: Does your team have any favorite local businesses? And Brio partners with area nonprofits – tell us more!
EL: For sure. We love our community and appreciate any opportunity to support local organizations. From nearby local eateries like The French Bakery, TemSib Thai, and Cielo Cocina Mexicana, to shopping destinations including The Bellevue Collection and The Shops at The Bravern, and all the other offerings of the beautiful Downtown core, we’re happy to amplify and support our local businesses whenever possible. In the past, we’ve partnered with Overlake Hospital and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue and look forward to extending our participation in other programs to help our community thrive.

BDA: How has the global health crisis redefined the Downtown living experience for Brio? Have you had to change your team’s approach?
EL: The health of our current and prospective residents, and team members, continues to be our highest priority. We feel that the best way to serve everyone amid COVID-19 is to adhere to all the guidelines issued by the State Department of Health and public officials. As to the experience of calling Brio home, in order to minimize in-person contact, we currently offer self-guided tours with the freedom to customize your tour to include the aspects that matter most to you. Though self-directed, we are available to answer any questions via phone or text while on your tour. Our prospective residents really appreciate this remote experience; it minimizes a great deal of pressure in the process of choosing a home. Of course, we’ve remain deeply committed to our future and current residents and make sure to be available through virtual channels, such as the UDR Resident app, text line, and more.

BDA: Have there been any encouraging moments throughout the pandemic that restored your faith or reminded your team to stay positive?
EL: Since we opened around the beginning of the pandemic, everyone had to quickly adapt and closely monitor new public safety restrictions as more information came to light. Through it all, and as we continue our lease-up efforts, our management team has remained focused and positive, keeping our residents at the forefront of all planning efforts as we navigate the uncertainty and change that accompanies the virus. We’ve joined forces with several local businesses and organizations to support our front-line workers and other community members that were most impacted by the pandemic. This experience, while difficult, has provided many learning opportunities. It's been a humbling and innovative time. We’ve been able to discover new ways to meet and exceed our residents’ needs while keeping their health and safety our number one priority.

BDA: Ok, say we want to move in ASAP... any upcoming discounts or special promotions for folks to sweeten the deal?
EL: We’re currently offering up to 8 weeks rent-free on select leases! Visit our website for more details and a complete list of current offers.

BDA: Thanks for chatting with us today!
EL: Absolutely! We’re proud to be here in the Heart of Bellevue providing a unique community for folks who wish to call Bellevue home. We believe that our location, services, and offerings are what make Brio a prime take on Downtown living.
