Falling for Bellevue this Fall

As the days get shorter, we’re reminded that summer has come to an end. It’s official—September 23 marks the first day of this wonderfully soggy season. We’ve decided to go “full-on fall” mode in Downtown Bellevue. Because really, there’s more than just pumpkin spice to look forward to. Here’s our favorite tricks and treats to enjoying fall in the city.

EAT YOUR WAY THROUGH AUTUMN

Downtown Bellevue is bursting with delicious food and warm drinks… two necessities to get you through the gray days ahead. Kick off the season with a honey harvest latte from the Capital One Café or a maple nut macchiato from Woods Coffee. For a savory bite, head over to Lot No. 3 for smoked cheddar mac & cheese, or Taylor Shellfish for a perfectly shucked oyster.

Colder days typically call for a hearty meal. Thankfully, Whisk offers several classes to perfect your classic apple pie, caramelized brussels sprouts, or bacon-wrapped sausage bundles… there’s even a seasonal 3-course dinner with wine pairing.

On Thursdays, pick out your pumpkins, corn, and other fall ingredients at the Bellevue Farmer’s Market. After October 10, they’ve added three additional market days on Oct. 19, Nov. 16 and Dec. 21 for more seasonal goods.

STEP INTO THE OUTDOORS

You don't have to go far to see the marvel of fall foliage. Take in a 360 view of Lake Washington and the Seattle skyline from the 31st floor at Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi. For a more grounded view, stroll through the 21-acre Downtown Park. You’re guaranteed to find color. For outdoor enthusiasts, REI is offering several courses on fall day hikes and backpacking in our area. Sign up online.

DRESS FOR THE SEASON

Scarves, jackets, boots... bundling up doesn’t have to be unstylish. Starting Wednesday, discover the latest fall style trends at Bellevue Fashion Week, Sept. 25-29. Runway shows and styling events will easily help you re-stock your fall wardrobe. If you prefer more of a treasure hunt experience, swing by Thrift Culture to browse new and gently used items. Not only will you find a steal of a deal, but each purchase supports local children living in poverty.
