New Fire Station 10 Strengthens High-Rise Emergency Response in Downtown Bellevue

April 15, 2026 - by Bellevue Downtown Association

For the first time in 30 years, Bellevue has opened a new fire station, marking a major investment in public safety as Downtown continues to grow.

Fire Station 10 is designed to improve response times for both fire and medical emergencies, particularly in areas with an increasing number of high-rise buildings where vertical response to upper floors is critical.

In 2016, the Bellevue Downtown Association Board supported the levy that helped fund this project, recognizing that as Downtown evolved, so too would the demand for faster, more specialized emergency response. Fire Station 10 represents that forward-looking investment, ensuring that infrastructure keeps pace with growth.

“Fire stations are more than buildings,” says Bellevue Fire Dept. Chief Dave Tait. “They are promises of services, readiness and care. Station 10 represents the safety of our residents, to the health and wellness of our firefighters, and to the future growth to our city."

Located at 1225 112th Ave. NE., the new station will better serve residents in Northwest Bellevue, downtown and BelRed areas, improving response times for fire and medical emergencies in those areas.

As if the opening wasn't celebration enough, the station also received the People’s Choice Award from the Bellevue and Seattle 2030 Districts Bellevue/Seattle 2030 District Vision Awards.

“Fire Station 10 and the Sustainable Bellevue Plan are prime examples of sustainability and development complementing each other to improve our community,” said City Manager Diane Carlson. “These bold efforts demonstrate Bellevue’s continued leadership in environmental stewardship, and we are honored to be recognized by the 2030 Districts' Vision Awards.”

Fire Station 10 is hosting an open house on Saturday, April 25 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

In the latest BTV's edition of Lake to Lake, the City of Bellevue team went to the ribbon cutting for Fire Station 10.
