Cathy Lalley knows good food like she knows the Heart of Bellevue: very well! We caught up with Cathy to see what she's been up to at John Howie Steak and Seastar Restaurant & Raw Bar, and where we might find her out in the community:

What do you love about working Downtown?
Downtown Bellevue is alive and well! It is so exciting to see it grow and thrive. Every day I come into Bellevue for work, I see something new and I love being a part of that!

Anything special in the works at Seastar or JHS?
Both Seastar and John Howie Steak offer a three course prix fixe menu Sunday – Thursday. It's an incredible value and has been quite popular. Three course dinner at Seastar is $39 and the JHS three course dinner is just $60. Most recently we opened a new bar, Whiskey by John Howie! This offers cocktails and a grand selection of whiskies that will interest the curious to the connoisseur. It’s a fun space and it's open on Fridays and Saturdays. We hope to grow this business and open it more days of the week.

Favorite places to shop?
I tend to visit stores in Old Bellevue. There are several boutiques with unique offerings. And I'm a big fan of glassybaby, Whisk and Fran’s Chocolates.

Favorite places to dine?
Honestly, I love our restaurants and am fortunate to eat there daily! When I sneak away I enjoy Carmine’s, Facing East and Katsu Burger.

Favorite places to hang out?
Relaxing…what is that? Ha, I don't get around much to rest, but you can find me at the Bellevue Botanical Gardens on the weekends. That place is a true unspoiled treasure.
