Shake Things Up With Our At-Home “Cocktail Week of Cheer”

December 9, 2020 - by Mason Luvera

Shake Things Up With Our At-Home “Cocktail Week of Cheer”

Right about this time of year, we’d be gathering around tables at our favorite bars and restaurants, sipping libations and catching up with friends and family. While we can’t wait to get back to our favorite watering holes, there’s no reason we can’t still sip and celebrate in a new way this year… that’s why we’ve designated December 14 - 20 as our “Cocktail Week of Cheer” – pick up pre-mixed beverages or DIY kits from your favorite bars and restaurants, set up a virtual gathering with your friends and family, and enjoy!

We’ve selected seven different bevvy options (one for each day of the week) for your indulgence – and of course, each of these locales offer fantastic non-alcoholic options too. If you’re in the mood for sipping, check these offerings out and start scheduling up those virtual happy hours. It's just another way to celebrate the Season of Cheer presented by Symtera.

Monday:

520 Bar & Grill

Monday is for Main Street… the Main Street Old Fashioned at 520, that is! As one of 520 Bar & Grill’s signature drinks, sip this hand-crafted refresher while you reminisce the old days with friends, made with Makers 46 bourbon, Domain de Canton, bitters, with an orange twist and Luxardo cherry, to garnish. It’s the best way to kick off the week… (after 5pm, perhaps?)

Tuesday:

Mercato Stellina

Known for their brick-oven pizzas (which you should absolutely try), Mercato Stellina has also gained a cult following for their Italian Greyhound… made with grapefruit juice, Alphabet Vodka and a splash of Campari, it’s practically medicinal! Half-off for the holidays, you can sip away and down a slice over a Zoom game night.

Wednesday:

Cielo Cocina

It’s the middle of the week… that’s the perfect excuse for Margarita Night! Text the group chat and set up a virtual sip-n-chat over Cielo Cocina’s Cadillac Margaritas – made with fresh citrus and homemade sour mix, it’s a refreshing pep-me-up that is certain to match the excitement of the conversation. Grab them to-go with any order!

Thursday:

Paddy Coyne's

Channel your inner Irish and order a Whiskey Mule from Paddy Coyne’s… this simple, refreshing and no-frills blend of Irish Whiskey and ginger beer is the perfect Thursday evening libation for an after-work happy hour. It also pairs perfectly with Shepard’s pie, so hey, skip the dishes and grab takeout too! Check out their full menu for a list of to-go options.

Friday:

Ascend

Skype with that foodie friend while Ascend’s “Perfect 10” cocktail kits. Made to order in 12 ounce flasks, you can select from such signature drinks as the “Life’s a Peach” (whiskey, walnut, lemon and peach) and the “Washingtonian” (single-malt whiskey, vermouth, cherry and antique bitters). Just make sure you grab dinner to go with… that flask is good for 3-4 servings!

Saturday:

Seastar

Take a mental vacation over the weekend... sip on a hand-crafted tropical Mai Tai from Seastar as one of their take-home cocktails. Made with two types of rum, triple-sec and lime, it’s the perfect concoction to plan those 2021 travel ideas with your pal. After a few sips over that Zoom call, you’ll both be looking at flights! And don't miss their dinner offerings to go with.

Sunday:

Bis on Main

Make it a Sunday-funday with Bis on Main’s “be your own bartender” at-home kits… simply snag a pairing of your choice, and you’ll get everything you need to whip up your own cocktails from scratch. So whip out that shaker, choose from a Vodka Mule, Old Fashioned or their signature “The Bis Rye Manhattan” – and chat away for a relaxing afternoon.

From a margarita night on Zoom to FaceTime refreshers with Grandma, do a virtual clink of glasses and spend some time relaxing with a good drink and the people you miss seeing. Cheers to that!
